I will become a Grandmaster

... in production. I will become a Grandmaster in production. I will become a Grandmaster in production. Yes sir, that is what I will become.

Listening to Steve Anderson's podcast, "Goals Part 2 - Setting and Achieving Goals"

Steve spoke of acting and believing that you are who or what you want to be. This is something I've heard for a long time from a young child till recently reading books by Zig Ziglar, Lanny Bassham, Charles Duhigg, and others. While many think of Stuart Smalley from the old SNL skits, performing the self affirmation in the mirror, that is bullshit.

Thinking like a Grandmaster is not about saying to yourself "Man I'm great! I look good today, my gunbelt doesn't make my ass look fat, and gosh darn it I'm gonna win!" It means getting up at 5am to dryfire for 30 minutes before your son or wife wakes up, its spending another 30 minutes that evening dryfiring after the kiddos are put to bed & the chores are done. Thinking like a Grandmaster means getting to the range on match day thinking "I've got my gear squared away, I've been working on shooting on the move - got it down pat, I'm going to see what I need to see, call my shots and shoot my game"

January 14, 2017 is the day my goal was put out for the world to see. I will be a Grandmaster by January of 2019 with a sub-goal of a competitive master classification by January 2018.
