Organization for Fast & Efficient Range Trips

Does your gear just wind up tossed in the bed of the truck or trunk of your car when headed to the range? Yeah, that’s typically what happens when heading out for some practice. Honestly that works okay, but for those (myself included!) with time restrictions there must be a better option! Ultimately it would be great to find a way to leave everything but the “dry goods” loaded, ready to go. Since I normally get the range once a week after work a system which is easy to load in 10 minutes before leaving is essential.

As it stands now I’m using a large plastic lidded storage tote for the pvc target stands, a few 7” steel plates, spray paint, a tarp, and a separate smaller box holds the paster gun, pasters (black, white, and brown), stapler with extra staples, which is strapped in the truck bed. Also in the bed are target stand sticks, shepard’s hook for the steel, and a cooler. Since that stuff can get wet, it is no problem but the range bag, targets, and ammo cans still go in the cab.

My method is not the most efficient but so far it is working well.

So, tell me how do you organize targets, stands, steel, paint range bag, coolers, etc. for a quick load up and efficient trip?
